Candidates to become regular students in the M.Sc. and D.Sc. programs can participate in the selection process for scolarships. To this end, they must declare at the time of their application the respective interest in participating of this process.

The scholarship selection process is conducted by the Scholarships and Selection Process Commission of the Program and follow the same criteria for scoring and calssification used in the selection process for admission to the Program, which are published in the Announcement of the Opening for Applications to the Selection Process. This classification is related to the availability of scholarships of each Advisor.

The scholarships which are part of this selection process are provided by CAPES and CNPq. Scholarships from other funding agencies (such as FAPESP, for example), or associated to R&D projects are managed by the respective Advisors in the Program.

The foreign candidates can also participate in other scholarship selection processes, such and the PEC-PG from CAPES or specific announcements of international collaboration between Brazil and their respective countries of origin. However, their admission to the Program is subject to approval in the Selection Process according to the Announcement of the Opening for Applications to the Selection Process.
