Hardware Test Engineer

Hardware at TRACTIAN The Hardware team is responsible for designing and improving our IoT devices, dealing with every step of the development process, ranging from PCB design, firmware programming, case design, validations and certifications, always aiming to build trustworthy products that can be produced at a mass scale. What youll do As a Hardware Test Engineer for Electronics, you will be deeply involved in the electrical testing of hardware components and systems. Your expertise will be essential in executing a variety of electrical tests, from component-level analysis to system-wide functionality checks, ensuring all electronic products meet technical specifications and performance criteria. Responsibilities Design and conduct electrical tests such as signal integrity, power loading, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers. Implement embedded firmware for microcontrollers to simulate operational conditions for electronic testing. Diagnose and troubleshoot circuitry issues using multimeters, logic analyzers, and in-circuit emulators. Collaborate with design engineers to refine PCB layouts and circuit designs based on test findings. Document all test results and develop reports that outline findings, conclusions, and recommendations for improvements. Stay current with advancements in electronic testing equipment and techniques. Adhere to and enforce compliance with electronic safety standards and regulations. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a closely related technical discipline. 3+ years of experience with hands-on electronic hardware testing and debugging. Strong proficiency with electronic test equipment and diagnostic tools. Knowledge of printed circuit board (PCB) design and testing, including familiarity with EDA tools like KiCad or Altium Designer. Solid understanding of digital and analog circuitry, as well as experience with power electronics. Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and datasheets. Bonus Points Experience with RF testing and wireless communications standards. Involvement in open-source hardware projects or community electronics groups. Fluent in English.
