Opto Electronics S. A. was born in the middle of 1985 under the name of Sao Carlos Opto Electronics Ltd. At the time, its founding members were researchers and technicians of the Physics Institute of the Sao Carlos campus of USP. Since then the company developed numerous products in the areas of precision optics, special thin films, medical and industrial applications of laser. Today, Opto has an important arm in the United States and is a major exporter of ophthalmologic equipment for Europe and Asia.

Opto is the team’s main sponsor. This partnership, formed in 2005, is crucial in enabling the design and construction of open class aircrafts by the EESC-USP team, especially with regard to the purchase of engines and hardware outside of Brazil.

 

Permatex is a leading manufacturer of adhesives, sealants, gasket makers, hand cleaners, lubricants, appearance products, and additives for the automotive maintenance, repair, performance, consumer and DIY markets.

Plexus has 30 years experience in the manufacturing of forming joints, sealants and coating products. Today, Plexus adhesives are revolutionizing the design and manufacture of a wide range of products, effectively replacing mechanical fasteners, welding and other conventional methods used in boats, cars, buses, trucks, trains, turbines and other applications. There are also simplifying the construction of large on-site architectural structures.

The two brands belongs to ITW - Illinois Tool Works, a company that makes the list of top 200 world ranking by Fortune Magazine. These are the two latest sponsors of the team, with joint venture formed in July 2011.

 

AVICKS Moda Masculina is a male clothing store recently established by three go-ahead enterprinsers, acting throught internet sales.

AVICKS is reconised by clients and partners as an enterprise that allies technical capacity and commitment with results.

The partnership team began in 2010. Avicks enables the team travel to Sao José dos Campos to the SAE Brasil AeroDesign.

 

Seeking excellence in quality on the production of bearings, NSK is present on five continents, with sales offices in 27 countries. The company also manufactures products for industrial maintenance, mechatronics, linear driving and automotive components. The company also offers exclusive customer services by means of intelligent solutions.

NSK has been a partner of the team for three consecutive years, including two world competitions and three Brazilian competitions. This partnership has been critical to the maintenance and retrofitting of the workshop and the purchase of materials for building of our aircrafts.

 

Alltec Composite Materials is a company from Sao Jose dos Campos that works specifically with the manufacturing of components in composite materials, moulds and thermal conformation of plastics for aeronautical and aerospace industrial applications.

Alltec is the team’s oldest partner, giving support to the Brazilian teams since the year of 2000. Their support is crucial for keeping the high structural performance of our teams’ aircraft and for our learning about handling and manufacturing parts in composite materials.

 

The Aeronautics, in the USP Sao Carlos, began in 1973 with the formation of a group for the design and construction of an aircraft for basic instruction. Part of this group, in 1978, was responsible for the creation of the Aircraft’s Laboratory, LAE, in the Mechanical Engineering Department, Engineering School of Sao Carlos.

With the creation of the Aeronautical Engineering course in USP, and the consequent expansion of the research lines, the NPA, Nucleus for Research in Aeronautics, was formed. As well as offering disciplines with aerospace content to the course Aeronautical Engineering, the nucleus also assists the national aviation industry through the development of research in partnership with corporations such as Embraer.

The department has always provided structural and technical support to the team, especially concerning the installation of our workshop and availability of the wind tunnels for our aerodynamic tests.

 

The Pro-Rectory for Culture and University Extension is the entity that plans, coordinates and implements the events sector within the USP, through various bodies and special projects. The mission of the Pro-Rectory is also to spread, in its scope, the core values of academic life, including the constant zeal for excellence.
