EESC-USP team wins, by the 3rd time, the Open Class of AeroDesign East Competition, in USA!

The competition was held in Marietta, GA, between April, 03 to 05. The team members returned to Brazil on 04/13, bringing another trophy for our collection.

With this victory, the EESC-USP AeroDesign team reaches the 9th title in its history, the 4th out of Brazil!

The aircraft EESC-USP Open has carried 39 lb of payload. The airplane was featured in the american competition, spreading excitement and wonder, mainly by its propulsion system, composed by two OS .30 engines and a reduction gear moving a single propeller.

Besides achieving the Open Class 1st Place Overall prize, the team has also won the Open Class Design Award, due to the highest scores in technical report and oral presentation, and the Design Innovation Award, by having exploited a new possibility of project, the design of an excellent, improved propulsion system, inside the limits established by the rules.

The Warsaw Univertity of Technology's team, from Poland, won the 2nd place overall, with an aircraft that carried 28 lb during flight. In a publication of a newspaper in Warsaw, the polish declared:
"Teams from all over the world agree with one single objective: defeat the polish. However, every year, our objective remains: to defeat the brazilians."

Congratulations to all team members, that have dedicated their time and effort to design and build the aircraft. Mainly, by aplying the filosofy of always conciliating evolution and result.
